Mercier Frères (Mid-20th century)

Mercier Frères was a distinguished French design studio and furniture manufacturer founded late in the 19th century in Paris on rue Faubourg Saint-Antoine in the heart of the Parisian furniture district. It was recognized as one of the leading French design firms of the late 19th century, a distinction that continued well into the 20th. In 1924, Mercier Frères was chosen to represent France in the Exposition Française de New York, an important trade fair that was held in the Grand Central Palace. At one time the firm had branches in both Geneva and Dallas. These gouaches are opulent interior designs produced for Mercier Frères clients in the mid-20th century.
